Meat Balls

I love the meat balls my mom makes





That's the best meat balls ever






I've been trying and trying and trying so hard

to make meat balls just like hers but I couldn't

So I asked her for her recipe this time








This time was successful





Not as good as my mom's meat balls, but I loved them

Thank you mom for giving me the recipe

Today, I saw red lions walking down the streets,






together with the very loud sounds of firecrackers in the city.







I heard that it was the last day of Chinese New Year celebration Today.


I guess...

Tonight's dinner

I cooked for the first time since I came back to Melbourne



I didn't cook last night

cos I went to visit my friend and her bf's house over dinner.

She is really good at cooking

What a shame that I didn't take a photo of her cooking




Tonight's dinner

-sweet miso pork with veggies-
-grilled sweet butter corn-
-fresh tomatoes with yuzu dressing-
-onion gratin-
-seaweed miso soup-

My housemates are still on uni holidays

and they haven't come back to Melbourne yet


I had a lonely dinner

It's easy to cook for myself...


but it is more fun to cook for my housemates.

I miss you guys

Tomorrow is my volunteering day at ACMI

so I have to wake up early!!




I'm still not used to the Melbourne time

cos it's 3hours ahead of Singapore time.

3 hours is a lot

Hopefully I can sleep early and wake up early tonight...

I'm also meeting up with my friend from high school

after the volunteering

I haven't seen her since the high school graduation

OMG that's ages ago!

Melbourne floods

I came back to Melbourne yesterday morning.



Then, OMG.



On that night, melbourne city was flooded...











Melbourne usually suffers from droughts in summer.



so... Why?

Singapore trip 2011

I was in Japan over christmas and new year

Then I flew to Singapore and stayed there for 3 weeks

before heading back to Melbourne.

I decided to go to Singapore cos

many people told me that the job market in Singapore is pretty good

Yes, I have been hunting for jobs

since I graduated from uni last year in August!!!

I decided to go to Singapore

also because I bought a really cheap ticket.

I don't know why but t was cheaper for me to...

fly to Malaysia (transit) and to Singapore→

then fly to Malaysia again(transit) to Melbourne

rather than going straight back to Australia from Japan.

I love travelling but I hate taking airplanes... so tiring...
I wish I had どこでもドア／Anywhere door (from Doraemon).





Anyway

I've been to Singapore several times before

and what I love about Singapore is....

FOOD

This is sweet milk flavoured shaved ice with strawberry sauce
The ice was soooo smooth Y yum!

This is ... some noodle dish. I forgot what it was called.
It was nice to eat with some chilli

My friend also took me to an Indian restaurant called Banana Leaf.

They serve rice and veggies on banana leaves.

This is my favourite Butter Chicken Y

I like butter chicken the best in Indian couisine

Finally,

this is...

Fish head

It was pretty scary

but supposed to be the most famous dish in this restaurant.

My friend ate the fish eye...

Christmas 2010

For my family, we always buy presents for each other and exchange them on the Christmas day.

These are the presents I've got from my family (mom, dad, sister and brother)↑

I think that Christmas is a very good occasion for me to think about my family and get something nice for them.

lunch with my friends in Kichijoji

I went to Kichijoji with my friends from elementary school.

We went there by bicycle. (about 30-40mins ride)

I haven't ridden a bicycle for a long time so it was really tiring!

We found a very cute cafe and had lunch there.

It's a hamburg steak in a beef stew with a croissant, a big piece of macha chiffon cake and 2 drinks Y

I had iced latte and fruit juice.

My friend had lychee　tea.

I tried it a bit and it tasted so nice Y

I should have gone for the lychee tea!

Maybe next time...
