My dog

Most of the Japanese houses have a gap between the house and the ground.
The gap is called "en no shita (縁の下)”.
If you put your hands in there, you can feel that it is much cooling in the gap than outside.

It's been really hot nowadays.
It is becoming my dog's rutine to sleep in the gap, under my house.
She is so cute but she gets really dusty when she does that.

Baked doughnuts

My friend gave me baked doughnuts

Baked doughnuts are very popular in Japan at the moment

because they are healthier than deep fried ones.

They look so professional!

My friend actually baked them and then decorated them!

So cute!

and yummy!

This one says "Tomoko".

Thank you Yoshie :)

happy birthday!

Happy birthday my sister

Conceal Cafe

Last saturday, I went to the Conceal Cafe in Shibuya with my friend.

I found out about this cafe online and printed out the cafe description and its location.

However, when we actually went to the location shown in the map, the cafe no longer existed.

The cafe moved!

Someone who wrote about the Conceal Cafe online, please update your information... :(

But luckily, my friend accidentally found the cafe in its new location while we were wondering around Shibuya station!

It was a nice, cozy cafe.

Somehow, it reminded me of cafes in Melbourne.

Lunch plate was only 1,000 yen ($10 ish) and it came with a main dish, drink and dessert!

I regret that I didn't take a photo of the lunch...

My friend and I met each other in Melbourne about 4 years ago.

We used to go to the same uni and live together.

I hadn't seen her for about 6 months so it was very nice catching up with her.

We had a lot of things to talk about.

We went to Karaoke afterwards.

I found it kind of strange that she is now working in Japan while I am still located in Melbourne cos we used to see each other everyday when we were housemates.

Hopefully I get to see her again while I am in Tokyo

JAPAN

I came back to Japan about a month ago.
I was supporsed to come back to Tokyo on the 1st of May.
But my Jet Star flights had been cancelled twice.
When I found out about the second cancellation, I was already in Gold Coast (There is no more direct flight from Melb to Tokyo so I always have to transit at Gold Coast).

I had to choose whether to fly back to Melbourne and wait for another flight tomorrow or fly to Kansai airport in stead of Narita. I chose the later one.

I arrived at Kansai airport around 7pm then, took a Shinkansen (bullet train) all the way to Tokyo. That took me another 4 hours.

It was very very very tiring.

The funny thing is that it was actually my first time to visit to Osaka (Kansai airport is in Osaka).
I hope I can visit Osaka again for sightseeing, not for transitting.

**I couldn't update my blog for while cos I've been busy working as an intern in Tokyo.
Hopefully I can update my blog somtimes while in Tokyo too.
